I shot this with window light only, no strobes or continuous lights added — the softness across her face comes entirely from how the natural light falls, which is what keeps skin tones this even without looking artificially smoothed. For an engineering headshot, that natural, unforced quality matters: the goal isn't a stiff corporate look, it's someone who seems approachable and sharp at the same time.
The rust-colored blazer over a cream top gives this one real color presence against the dark, softly blurred background — a modern wardrobe choice that moves away from the plain black-suit default a lot of technical headshots default to, without losing professionalism.
It's a good example of how I approach headshot sessions for people in engineering and technical fields: natural light, current wardrobe, and an expression that reads confident and easy to work with, not corporate-stiff.
